Local Scout troop takes second place

The 1st Bedfordview Scout Troop recently took part in the Northrand District Pioneering Competition and obtained second place overall.
As part of the programme, the Scouts built a chariot that allowed them to retrieve an object from the top of a two-story building.
The highlight of the competition was the building of a medieval drawbridge with a retractable bridge.
Pioneering is the skill of constructing bridges, towers and other objects from ropes and poles.
It forms an integral part of the Scout programme.
