The Bedfordview SAPS arrested a man for perjury on Monday, September 28.
According to the Bedfordview SAPS communications officer, Sergeant Mduduzi Nhlabathi, the man was arrested after he had opened a case of armed robbery.
“During the investigations, the man took officers to Johannesburg where he pointed out his alleged robber. The suspect was denied and said the man had asked him for a lift to Eastgate,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.
“He said he took the man and two of his employees to a taxi rank in Johannesburg and provided the man with money for taxi fare to Eastgate. The man’s employees confirmed this version of events,” said Sgt Nhlabathi.
The man was subsequently arrested for perjury and will appear in court soon.
