Hijackers strike at petrol station

“The men pointed firearms at the couple and demanded the car keys."

A 64-year-old man and his wife were hijacked at a petrol station on Linschoten Street in Bruma on September 29, shortly after 8am.

The Cleveland SAPS communications officer, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the couple was driving a BMW 320i when they were approached by two men.

“The men pointed firearms at the couple and demanded the car keys.

“They also took the keys to the couple’s second car, which were inside the woman’s handbag,” said Const Mashakane.

She said the men also took the man’s cellular phone before they fled the scene.
