Shopping centre sewage problem resolved

He said the sewage problem started a few months back and was fixed, but started again about two weeks ago.

The sewage problem at the Eden Meadows Shopping Centre has been resolved.

Some residents had complained about an intermittent sewage stink coming from the centre.

Mr Eric Chisale, the manager of Ocean Busket, said the problem was resolved as soon as they notified the management of the centre about it.

He said the sewage problem started a few months back and was fixed, but started again about two weeks ago.

“A few months ago the pumps were blocked and we reported the matter. The trucks came and drained the pipes. The problem started again about two weeks ago and we reported it again. After it was reported the second time, they brought in new, bigger pipes to replace the original pipes as they were too small,” said Mr Chisale.

Another tenant at the centre, who did not want to be named, said the sewage problem has been a long term battle but the centre management has always been very helpful and quick to sort it out. He said when the problem was reported, they came with trucks to drain pumps, took out the old pipes and replaced them with new pipes.
