Random shooter opens fire on group, one dead

A man fired shots at a group of people, killing one and seriously injuring another along Jules Street in Malvern.

The shooting took place on Sunday morning.

The Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the group was walking from one tavern to another when they were confronted by a man who shot at them shortly before 3am.

“Two men were shot. One died at the scene while the other was taken to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. The rest of the group fled in different directions, including the shooter,” said Const Mashakane.
