CCPF assists Jumpers residents
Members have been working hard to ensure that residents are safe and receiving all the necessary assistance.
The Cleveland Community Policing Forum (CCPF) has been assisting Jumpers Informal Settlement residents since Saturday’s fire, when about 250 shacks were destroyed.
The CCPF has been working tirelessly to assist the residents in every way possible.
The CCPF members have been assisting the resident by attending to the needs of the people.
According to the CCPF chairperson, Ms Allison Roberts, members have been working hard to ensure that residents are safe and receiving all the necessary assistance.
CCPF members Gugulethu Sangweni, Nomphelo Zozo and Wilton Cele have been working with government officials to provide the necessary information to those affected by the blaze.
They have been distributing clothing, donated to the CCPF, to Jumpers residents.
The community of Jumpers said they are grateful to the CCPF, as these forum members also ensure no one goes to bed with an empty stomach. They have been dedicating their time and putting people’s needs before their own needs.
Ms Roberts said she is also pleased and touched by the community of Cleveland and businesses for opening their hearts and donating towards providing for the basic needs of those affected by the fire.
“I would like to thank the Grace Bible Church, the ANC Chinese Branch, the Bedfordview CPF, Shoprite and community members who have been donating. We appreciate it as the CCPF,” said Ms Roberts.
