Robbers lock staff in bathroom, rob home

"The men forced both the workers into the bathroom. They tied them up with cable ties."

Robbers forced a gardener into the house during a robbery along Highland Road in Kensington on Thursday, at about 11am.

The Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Constable Mpho Mashakane, said the gardener was working outside in the yard when he was confronted by two men.

“One of the men was armed with a firearm. They forced him into the house where there was a domestic worker.

“The men forced both the workers into the bathroom. They tied them up with cable ties and locked them inside the bathroom,” said WO Munyayi.

He said the men took two cellular phones, cash and the house keys before they fled the scene.
