As the festive season approaches, road fatalities and mischievous social behaviour within the community will be on the rise.

To keep the community safe on the roads, the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Traffic Police Department, launched a safe festive season campaign to root out all social ills prevalent during this jovial season.

The campaign was launched on December 2.

“As the City of Ekurhuleni, we are taking a firm stance against improper behaviour during this festive season, especially on the roads.

“We plead with all road users and pedestrians to adhere to the rules of the road at all times,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Mr Themba Gadebe.
