UPDATE: Woman allegedly turned away is receiving treatment – Dr Kernes, CEO
She suffered an "intrauterine foetal death (IUFD), resulting in the foetus’s death, the causes are unknown," Dr Kernes said.

Doctor Norman Kernes, chief executive officer for Edenvale Hospital, told the NEWS that the woman who was allegedly turned away from the facility yesterday is currently receiving treatment.
She is receiving care from Doctor Ramogale-Zungu, head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Edenvale Hospital.
She suffered an “intrauterine foetal death (IUFD), resulting in the foetus’s death, the causes are unknown,” Dr Kernes said.
According to Dr Kernes, the experience is traumatic for a patient, and the process to remove the foetus is not quick, labour has to be induced, a caesarean section (C – section) has to be done on the patient, which can also be traumatic and leave scars both externally and internally.
Dr Kernes added that the hospital is trying to go the extra mile for the patient, giving her the support she needs.
Last night the NEWS reported that a pregnant woman who lost her baby was allegedly turned away from Edenvale Hospital without assistance in having the fetus removed from her womb.
(UPDATE: Health department awaits more information on allegations against hospital.)
According to Bez Valley Pastor Justin Morgan the woman had been at the hospital since 3.30am today when she was told her baby was dead.
She was told to go home and wait for labor pains.
At approximately 4.30pm the hospital allegedly admitted the woman to induce labor.
Pastor Morgan said that hospital staff acted “unprofessionally” and that they had shown very little sympathy for the woman.
