Pupils from Elandspark School each received a solar light, pencil case and a novel recently.
The donation was part of the Rotary Club of Bedfordview and Mahindra Rise South Africa’s initiative to help children across the world study better, even when they have no power.
The club’s secretary and past president, together with Mr David Leventhorpe, handed over the donations to the pupils.
Elandspark is a school for pupils with special needs.
The initiative has seen over 4 000 solar lamps being donated across the country.
Bedfordview High School was also among the schools to receive the donation.
