Aquatic Academy and ESP swimmer Clayton Malaza has been identified to form part of a squad for Aquatics Gauteng.
The Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation will provide funding for specific scientific testing for this squad, including monitoring during the upcoming regional and national competition period.
Further planned technical evaluation includes video analysis during Swimming South Africa (SSA) competitions.
The squad was invited to attend the first testing at the High Performance Centre (HPC) in Pretoria on March 5.
The testing included: sport testing, including anthropometry, lung function test, functional movement screen, medical screening, nutrition educational talk, strength and conditioning.
The HPC will provide reports for parents, coaches and doctors to work with.
