The body of a man was found on Elm Street in Edenvale yesterday.
“The man was declared deceased due to unknown causes” said Edenvale SAPS communication officer Warrant Officer Jean Olckers.
“Members of the public noticed a man lying next to the road and paramedics were contacted.” said W/O Olckers.
An Inquest docket was opened and the matter is under investigation.
W/O Olckers said that no one has come forward to identify the man who appeared to be a homeless.
It is believed that man was aged between 30 to 40.
The Edenvale SAPS has appealed to anyone with information regarding the identity of the man to contact the Edenvale Detective services on 011 553-8600.
