Church aims to help improve relationships

The Love Reaching communities Church (LRC) will host a seven week relationship improvement/enrichment course.

The Love Reaching Communities Church (LRC) will host a seven week relationship improvement and enrichment course.

The course starts on September 7 at 33 High Street, Modderfontein. Ms Candice Ascough, one of the organisers said the church will host the course free of charge.

“We are not trying to make any money from the course and are raising the funds ourselves for the venue hire, advertising and other costs involved in running the course every week. The only cost to those attending is their meal each week and a once-off R42.50 for the course book. That and of course the commitment to being there every Wednesday evening for seven weeks. The idea behind it is to invest into marriages and relationships in our community,” said Ms Ascough.

She said the invitation is open to everyone in a committed relationship.

“The course is not only for Christians as some may assume because a church is organising it. Although the course material is based on Christian values, the principles are applicable to any relationship,” said Ms Ascough.

“We are expecting a fairly big turn out and can take a maximum of 50 couples. If we have enough interest we may run the course on the Tuesday evening as well and potentially double the number of attendees. The course is renowned worldwide and we are excited to be able to offer it to our community at no charge. In the future we hope to run other courses such as one on parenting,” said Ms Ascough.

She urged couples to register before time as space is limited. Meals must also be ordered prior the event.
