Sebenza Police Station named station of the month

The Sebenza Police Station has been named station of the month in the Ekurhuleni North Cluster.

The station obtained the most convictions for the month of August in the cluster.

Spokesperson Sergeant Sharon Mahamba-Tsotsotso said the station was named station of the month after it obtained more convictions than any other station in its cluster.

She said Constable Bennie Matlopela along with other members Sergeant Amos Thaka, Constable Diana Reddy, Constable Sabelo Nkosi and Warrant Officer John Maripa all received convictions on cases investigated by them.

Const Matlopela was also named Detective of the Month for obtaining four convictions in August.

The cases ranged from dealing in dagga, robbery and theft to housebreaking and possession of firearm.

“The suspects were handed sentences which ranged from two months to 10 years. As a station we always thrive to work together as a team. Both uniformed members and detectives are committed to the fight against crime and we believe that doing thorough investigations in all our cases is crucial in order to obtain convictions,” said Sgt Tsotsotso.
