Business break-in suspect arrested

He said the suspect was charged with business break-in and possession of stolen goods.

The owner of Bedfordview’s newest bar Mr Mike Dahbour said he can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

This after one of the men believed to be responsible for the spate of break-ins his business has endured, were arrested.

Mr Dahbour said in the nine weeks that his business has been operating, he has had three incidents.

“They stole my flat screen TV sets and my laptop which had a database of over 3 000 people. I replaced the TV. I am not worried much about my laptop, but my marketing database is irreplaceable,” said Mr Dahbour.

He said in the latest incident, which happened in the wee hours of last Thursday, suspects broke a window to gain access.

“They took my TV sets again. It is so frustrating,” said Mr Dahbour.

Captain André de Jager, spokesperson for the Bedfordview SAPS, said officers on patrol duty stopped a suspicious-looking car.

“Two men jumped out of the car and ran off. Upon searching the car they found the TVs for which the driver did not account. They arrested him,” said Cpt de Jager.

He said the suspect was charged with business break-in and possession of stolen goods.
