JUST IN: Fraudster uses JMPD worker’s payslip to buy cell phone

She used a fake ID and a payslip that belonged to a female admin worker of JMPD.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested at the Greenstone Mall at about 3.30pm today when it was discovered that she purchased a cellphone at the Vodacom shop using a fake ID book and a payslip that belonged to a female admin worker of Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD).

“Officers quickly responded after getting a call from the Vodacom forensics team. The female suspect is likely to appear in the Cleveland Magistrate’s Court tomorrow to face a charges of fraud,” said Wayne Minnaar from JMPD.
