Yeoville police have arrested 38 suspects

YEOVILLE – 38 suspects appear in court after they were arrested by Yeoville police for committing various crimes.

Yeoville police arrested a total of 38 suspects from 3 to 10 October.

The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from shoplifting and assault to business robbery and theft.

The suspects were arrested for the following crimes:

  •  1 Business robbery
  • 1 Housebreaking
  • 4 Common robbery
  • 3 Assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH)
  • 3 Assault common
  • 2 Possession of drugs
  • 3 Possession of suspected stolen property
  • 1 Possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition
  • 2 Theft out of a motor vehicle
  • 1 Shoplifting
  • 8 Trespassing
  • 1 Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • 2 Malicious damage to property
  • 2 Illegal immigrants
  • 1 Theft
  • 1 Theft under false pretences
  • 2 Fraud.

“The suspects have appeared in court. Some have paid their fines, others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Yeoville Police Station spokesperson, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
