The Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court sentenced Viega Izabel Zico to 17 years’ imprisonment for an attempted car hijacking on 16 August last year.
“He was found guilty of attempted car hijacking, attempted murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” said spokesperson for Cleveland Police Station, Constable Mpho Mashakane.
“This conviction sends out a strong message to criminals and the community, and they should know that crime doesn’t pay,” said Mashakane.
“We would like to congratulate Warrant Officer Roy Shipalana of the Cleveland Investigations Unit for his dedicated hard work and investigation skills in this case.”
