Laerskool MW De Wet Primary School held a grandparents’ and market day for its pupils on September 28.
According to the principal of the school, Mr Johan Kloppers, there were 200 grandparents at the school.
Mr Kloppers said the grandparents’ day was held for grade one to three pupils.
He said the pupils in older grades sold sweet treats at stalls.
“The pupils had to pay R50 to have a stall and any profit made, they could keep,” said Mr Kloppers.
At the market, grade 5 pupil Calo Lategan and his friends were selling cupcakes to raise funds for Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer.
Calo said that all the money made selling the cupcakes would be donated to Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer.
