R100k of crystal meth confiscated

Over R100 000 worth of crystal meth has been confiscated following the arrest of a suspect by the Edenvale SAPS Crime Prevention Unit.

Over R100 000 worth of crystal meth has been confiscated following the arrest of a suspect by the Edenvale SAPS Crime Prevention Unit.
Colonel Robbie Roberts, the station commander of the Edenvale SAPS, said the arrest was made on November 4 after they received information from a community member.
After following up on the information, the SAPS found the man to be in possession of two unlicensed firearms, unlicensed ammunition, a stolen motor vehicle, drugs and drug manufacturing equipment.
“One of the firearms, a shotgun, tested positive for being stolen,” said Col Roberts.
The second firearm was a 9mm pistol.
Col Roberts said the manufacturing equipment, chemicals and drugs were found in the motor vehicle.
The suspect appeared in court on charges of possession of two unlicensed firearms, possession of unlicensed ammunition, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of drugs and the manufacturing of drugs.
