I Love Kensington Association has a new committee

KENSINGTON – Ilka has chosen a new committee and promises to turn things around in the community.

The I Love Kensington Association (Ilka) has turned over a new leaf as a new committee was chosen at its annual general meeting on 1 April.

The new committee will be under the leadership of Kensington resident, Brendon Burmester.

Burmester has been chairperson before and has experience working with the community. “I’m passionate about Kensington and hope to see the area developing into a place where residents of Kensington and surrounds can enjoy all it has to offer in a safe, clean environment.

“I look forward to leading a committee that is effective in rolling out a vision for greater Kensington that embraces all residents,” said Burmester.

He said Kensington was a diverse suburb and needed a residents association that represented all who lived in the area and that was what he planned to do as head of the new committee.

“I would like to encourage all residents to get involved in their community and support us as a committee. We look forward to leading the regeneration of Ilka and in turn, pull Kensingtonians together,” concluded Burmester.

The new I Love Kensington Association committee members are:

Hudson van Niekerk

Kgomotso Modise

Jack van der Vorst
