Greater business vision for Tevin at Queens High

JOBURG – The sky is the limit for this 17-year-old.

Tevin Thato Ramalapis (17), in Grade 11 at Queens High School, started his own business of washing dustbins and cars early last year. Ramalapis said his business idea came about from seeing dirty bins when it was days for pikitup to empty the bins. “People always complained about dirty bins and in that I saw a business opportunity,” he said.

Ramalapis said his two friends Thabang Mokgomme and Juma Ismail help him run his business. The business mainly covers Malvern and Kensington areas. The purpose of this business is to wash bins and cars at an affordable price.

“It helps keep the environment clean, it’s one thing to empty your dustbin, but that does not ensure your dustbin is clean. Dustbins carry all kinds of germs and bacteria, all we are trying to do is to make our areas and houses a safer and cleaner environment to be around in,” said Ramalapis.

He said washing each dustbin cost R30 and car wash is also R30.
