A case of assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm is under investigation following an attack on an elderly Edenvale resident.

Sergeant Jacob Mashile, acting spokesperson of Edenvale SAPS,  confirmed that the case was opened on April 19.

He said the incident occurred on April 14.

Mashile said the 68-year-old (edited) was in ICU at Milpark Hospital.

“No arrest has been made and the case is under investigation,”  said Mashile.

Mashile added that no information about the suspect can be released as it might hamper the investigation.
