Acknowledging those who help others

Several community members received awards at the Edenvale Rotary Club’s (ERC) fundraising evening.

The awards, which were presented on May 27, were in recognition of four community members’ dedication to helping others.

Three of the awards were Paul Harris Awards.

Linda Clarke, secretary of the ERC, said Jeff Stafford, Anthony Sardinah, Anne and Pierre Marais received awards.

•  Jeff Stafford received a Paul Harris Award in recognition for his many years of service in the Salvation Army.
•  Doctors Anne and Pierre Marais, local GPs, received their Paul Harris Awards in recognition of the many years of service to Edenvale Hospice.
•  Anthony Sardinah was awarded a “service-above-self” award in recognition of his assistance and support of Edenvale Child Welfare.

The funds from the evening will contribute towards the club’s Rotary Foundation grant application to upgrade Little Eden’s Laundry.
