A good week for Yeoville police

Yeoville police officers arrested 29 suspects from June 26 to July 3.

Yeoville police officers arrested 29 suspects from June 26 to July 3 for committing crimes ranging from kidnapping, theft, fraud and robbery.

The suspects were arrested for the following:

  •  Five for armed robbery.
  •  Three for common robbery and kidnapping.
  •  Four for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
  •  Three for common assault.
  •  One for driving under the influence of alcohol.
  •  Three for shoplifting.
  •  One for dealing in drugs.
  •  One for possession of suspected stolen property.
  •  One for possession of dagga.
  •  Three for malicious damage to property.
  •  Two for theft and two for fraud.

“The suspects have appeared in different courts and some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said spokesperson for Yeoville Police Station, Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
