LATEST: SAPS confirms victim in Linksfield Road robbery was followed from the bank

The suspects took the money and fled the scene in a Grey Polo Vivo.

Captain Jean Olckers, spokesperson of the Edenvale SAPS, has told the NEWS the robbery in Dowerglen today was a bank following.

Olckers said a man travelling to Boksburg stopped at a petrol station on Linksfield Road where he was robbed.

“Three men, two of who were armed approached the man and instructed him to lay on the ground,” said Olckers.

Once on the ground the suspects took the man’s car keys and demanded to know where his money was.

The suspects then took the money and fled the scene in a Grey Polo Vivo.

“No shots were fired and an undisclosed amount of money was taken,” said Olckers.

He urged community members to avoid dealing with large amounts of cash money.
