New look for KRRA

KENSINTON – Change has come to Kensington.

Kensington Residents and Ratepayers Association (KRRA) has a new logo.

This is part of the process of rebranding the association.

The association’s chairperson, Brendon Burmester said the rebranding and the name change were needed as the association was losing its purpose and identity.

“The reason for the name change is that we felt the association was having an identity crisis and losing meaning. With so many ‘I love my community’ groups, people were getting confused about what the association stood for.

“We have officially changed our branding online and will be launching our new website soon. We have a revamped mission statement and logo, which reflect the change in the organisation,” explained Burmester.

The new mission statement states that the association seeks to be the voice of the residents and aims to foster mutually beneficial relationships between KRRA and all Kensington residents.

KRRA seeks to encourage good citizenship while developing a community that adheres to by-laws. It seeks to grow its membership constantly, which will enable members to fund various projects relating to security, cleanliness and heritage.

Burmester said the new logo represents Kensington.

“We needed something fresh and inspirational that would incorporate the trees of our area as well as the Jozi skyline which shadows our area,” he said.

The new KRRA committee has been working hard to implement positive changes within the association.

Burmester said it is important to motivate Kensingtonians to become members.

“We are distributing flyers with the new logo, to the whole community. We urge residents to register as members,” said Burmester.
