
The Johannesburg SAPS East Cluster arrested 128 suspects from September 10 to 17.
The cluster is made up of seven police stations, namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.
The arrests included:
• Four for house robbery.
• One for car hijacking.
• A total of 21 for theft.
• A total of 21 for common assault.
• Five for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
• Two for burglary at business premises.
• One for rape.
• Two for possession of unlicensed firearm.
• Four for house burglary.
• Nine for possession of drugs.
• Seven for fraud.
• Seven for malicious damage to property.
• One for attempted murder.
• One for perjury and bribery.
• Five for common robbery.
• Four for possession of stolen vehicles.
• Three for attempted business robbery.
• One for dealing in drugs.
• Two for possession of suspected stolen property.
• Two for dealing in liquor without a liquor license.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison,” said Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Captain Johan Jordaan.
