LATEST: Man arrested while burning copper cables in Sebenza

Members of a security company received an alarm activation from the Edenvale SPCA when the organisation's premises was engulfed in black smoke.

A man was arrested this afternoon in Sebenza for illegal possession of copper cables.

It is currently unknown where the man received the cables from.

Members of SOS Security received an alarm activation from the Edenvale SPCA when the organisation’s premises was engulfed in black smoke.

Investigations led reaction officers to the man who was burning plastic sheathing off an unknown quantity of copper cables.

Reaction officer Gary Wilson told the NEWS that officers from the Sebenza SAPS were called in and the man was arrested.
