Canines compete in obstacle race
The dogs showed off their speed and accuracy as they navigated weave poles, tunnels, hurdles, A-frames, seesaws and other obstacles.
Trained canines competed in dog agility at Gillooly’s Goldfields Kennel Club on Sunday.
The dogs showed off their speed and accuracy as they navigated weave poles, tunnels, hurdles, A-frames, seesaws and other agility obstacles in the obstacle course.

The animals were judged by a panel while they ran through the course, off leash, directed by their owners using voice, movement and various body signals.

Petronella Clark entered six-year-old Border collie Zingo, who completed the course in 58.16, which is his fastest time to date.
Clark has been training her best friend since he was two years old.

“My dogs are part of the family, I don’t have watchdogs,” she pointed out.

Clark explained that Border collies are fast, intelligent and agile and love taking part in dog agility competitions.
Zingo has also motivated her to get fit.

“This is what he loves, and I love running with him. At my age I’ve got to exercise. I hate exercising, but we work together,” she said.
