The Johannesburg SAPS East Cluster arrested 68 suspects between March 16 to 18.
The suspects were arrested for crimes ranging from shoplifting and fraud to theft.
This cluster is made up of seven police stations, namely Cleveland, Jeppe, Hillbrow, Rosebank, Parkview, Norwood and Yeoville.
The arrests included:
• Three for assault common.
• Ten for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
• Six for possession of stolen properties.
• Four for shoplifting.
• Seven for theft.
• Two for fraud.
“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid their fines while others are out on bail and others remain in prison,” said Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Capt Richard Munyai.
