Restaurant supports crime fighting initiative

Vini’s Restaurant has therefore decided to do their part in fighting crime within the community.

Billy Anderson has been part of the Bedfordview community for 26 years.

Anderson and his late wife opened a restaurant in the area in 1992 and he has often heard about his customers’ concerns about crime and how it affects them.

The restaurant has now joined the fight against crime following a conversation with Bedfordview Community Police Forum chairperson Gavin Henry.

Henry told Anderson that the forum was trying to raise funds to introduce a camera system in Bedfordview to lessen crime by recognising known criminals and vehicles before a crime is committed.

Vini’s Restaurant donated R5 from every main course meal from September 11 to 25 to help BCPF combat crime and make Bedfordview a safer place.

Anderson said they will continue donating after the time frame, depending on the response from the community.
