Lucy bows out as CEO

Residents, staff and representatives from Little Eden Society’s board of governors celebrated and acknowledged Lucy Slaviero’s last day as CEO.
On August 31, Lucy spent her last day at the Edenvale and Bapsfontein homes listening to words of gratitude and appreciation from all.

“It is with a tinge of sadness, and a lump in my throat, that I must say farewell to somebody very special and one who played such an important role at great personal sacrifice,” said Doug Boake, the chairman of the board.

“Under her guidance, the society ensured policies, procedures, systems and controls are in place for the purpose of maintaining the society’s benchmark status.”
The role of CEO was filled by Xelda Rohrbeck.
“It has been a great privilege to be mentored by Lucy. I learnt a lot from her and will keep referring to her teachings as I take on this special task,” said Xelda.

Pumla Mtyele, a sister of one of the residents who represented the residents’ families, said everyone is grateful to the organisation for the courageous work it does.

“Most of us carry painful experiences before we came to know Little Eden. I always wanted to say wonderful things to Lucy because of the selfless work she’s done for the society and humanity.”
