Two people were seriously wounded when a gunman allegedly opened fire on them at their home in Malvern on November 4 at about 9pm.
According to Cleveland SAPS spokesperson, Capt Johan Jordaan, the gunman stormed into the victims’ home and opened fire.
“The two victims were rushed to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, where they are reported to be in a stable condition.”
Jordaan said the motive for the shooting is unknown while a case of attempted murder is being investigated.
“Four spent cartridges were also recovered from the scene.”
One man was shot in the right thigh, and his friend sustained a gunshot wound to the right knee. Both victims were taken to the hospital shortly afterwards.
Jordaan said witnesses described as having seen a man wearing a bulletproof vest making his way into the victims’ home before shots rang out.
The suspect then fled the scene.
“We are not sure what the reason for the shooting is, however, the case will be investigated and we hope to make an arrest soon.”
