St Andrew’s swimmer competes for SA

The games took place in Gaborone, Botswana.

Kerryn Herbst, Grade 10 learner from St Andrew’s School for Girls, was for the South African squad which participated in the Africa Union Sport Council Region Five u-20 Games.

The games took place in Gaborone, Botswana, in December.

Team South Africa comprised of 220 athletes from nine sporting codes, namely athletics (including the visually impaired), basketball, boxing, football, judo, netball, swimming, tennis and volleyball.

South Africa has, in previous years, dominated the u-20 games between the region five countries which include Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Lesotho and Swaziland.
