Edenvale’s Lions basketball team take a bite out of illegal advertising

Once the academy has enough funds it hopes to establish a basketball court on the Edenvale Sports Grounds.

2018 was a successful year for the Edenvale Lions Basketball Academy during which the team was able to garner investment from businesses.

Edson Makavan, coach and one of the academy’s founders, said support for the academy grew when it held a gala dinner last November.

Once the academy has enough funds it hopes to establish a basketball court on the Edenvale Sports Grounds.

Following the academy’s fund-raising event it held a clean-up campaign on December 14 in the Edenvale CBD in partnership with Edenvale City Improvement District (ECID).

Members of the club, together with staff from ECID, cleaned the CBD and removed posters which were illegally placed in town.
