Vulture culture talk

Visitors are welcome to attend the talk at Modderfontein Town Hall at 7.30pm.

Modderfontein Conservation Society will host a talk on January 17 about vultures and what is being done to conserve the birds.

Laura Nelson, a paragliding instructor from Vulture Conservation Programme (VulPro), will speak on why we should adjust our attitude towards these birds at the evening meeting.

Laura harbours a passion for these birds since the beginning of her flying career.

“I was amazed by the stories of the pilots who had flown over the Skeerpoort Cape Vulture colony and were joined in the air by hundreds of vultures, and it soon was a dream to fly with the vultures,” Laura said.

She fulfilled this dream and continues to do so.

Visitors are welcome to attend the talk at Modderfontein Town Hall at 7.30pm.

An entrance fee of R30 is charged to help cover expenses.
