Collision leaves two dead

Khoza said the cause of the collision has not been identified as yet.

Two people died on January 19 on the R24 east, direction to Boeing Road West in Bedfordview in a collision that occurred at about 2pm.

Acting media officer for Ekurhuleni Emergency Management Services Vincent Khoza said the collision involved a double cab white bakkie driving on the R24 east.

The vehicle was involved in a collision with a motorcycle coming from Boeing Road West.

“We could not identify the make of the motorcycle as it was badly damaged,” said Khoza.

Khoza said the cause of the collision has not been determined and EMPD and SAPS will be investigating the incident.

Acting spokesperson for EMPD inspector Kobeli Mokheseng added the deceased are a man and woman.

Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Capt André de Jager confirmed the incident.

“A culpable homicide docket has been opened,” said de Jager.
