Farmers market fun

The first Modderfontein Farmers Market of the year was hosted at the historic Franz Hoenig Haus gardens.

The January 26 market flowed with community members, food trucks and stands with different kinds of produce.

The atmosphere was relaxing as jazz music filled the air.

A large area accommodated stalls and lush green grass for families to picnic.

Modderfontein is a peaceful and tranquil place with nature surrounding it.

The market is right next to the Modderfontein Reserve, so nature’s stillness spills over into the market.

Foot traffic was healthy with a good number of residents coming in and out throughout the day.

The market is held on the last Saturday of every month.

The next market will be held on February 23.
