New future for second-hand shop
The shop will move to bigger premises and include two shops in one.

With the hopes of expanding Little Eden Society’s second-hand shop, they are set to relocate to 33 Eighth Avenue on March 1.
Public relations and communications officer Nichollette Muthige said the shop has two types of customers, those who buy for personal use and those who buy to resell and needs to cater for both.
“As a result, the shop will move to bigger premises and include two shops in one,” said Nichollette.
She explained one side of the premises will cater to consumers and the other to dealers.
Once the shop has moved it will no longer be referred to as the second-hand shop, but rather the Little Eden Society Charity Shop.

Little Eden cares for 300 children and adults with profound intellectual disability.
Majority of the society’s residents were abandoned while others come from indigent families who are unable to support them financially.
Nichollette said approximately eight per cent of the society’s income derives from the shop operation.
She said the money contributes towards the almost R45-million needed per annum for the society to keep its doors open.
Second-hand items in good condition can be donated to the society’s reception at 79 Wagenaar Road in Edenglen.
