Jeppe High School for Boys cricket player Tshepo Stafa is making a mark in the junior ranks.
Stafa is in the u-15A team and he got his second century in a row when he made 120 against St David’s on Saturday.
He was 102 not out in a T20 game against Dainfern last Wednesday, after scoring two 50s in a row before that.
His run of good form stretches back to last year when he notched up seven half-centuries and two 100s over the two halves of the season.
Stafa was spotted by the Gauteng cricket development team in Soweto where his love for the sport started.

“I played for the Gauteng u-13 team in Grades Six and Seven and they arranged for me to move to Jeppe Prep in my last year of primary school,” he explained.
Stafa is constantly working hard to improve in the sport.
“I still go to nets at Gauteng to get extra coaching, especially before trials,” he said.
Last year he made the Gauteng u-15 team, even though he was a year younger.
This year he is part of the very successful Jeppe u-15 team and he is enjoying it.
“We have good team spirit and our coach, Mr Casey, knows the game and gives us encouragement. Mr Bechet also talks to me and gives me encouragement.

“His message is that I must keep on working on my game and I will become a first team player one day,” shared Stafa.
The young athlete also plays rugby and soccer.
“I played rugby last year but got injured. I also was in the u-14A soccer team.
“I can’t play rugby this year because of my injury, so I am going to concentrate on cricket, and on my school work and I look forward to the soccer season.”
