LATEST: Hawks seize cannabis worth R2.5-million and arrest two at N12 off-ramp in Edenvale

According to the Hawks two suspects are expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday following an intelligence-focused operation on March 14 when a consignment of cannabis, with an estimated street value of R2.5 million, was seized.

“The Hawks’ South African Narcotics Bureau unit, in cooperation with Crime Intelligence and Technical Response Team (TRT) stopped and searched a Toyota Hilux bakkie on the N12 off-ramp in Edenvale. The vehicle was en route from Swaziland,” said Capt Lloyd Ramovha.

“The search uncovered several neatly packaged bags of cannabis, reportedly destined for the local street market. The pair is expected to face charges of dealing in cannabis,” said Ramovha.
