Much-needed funds raised for Edenvale SPCA
“It is important that the community helps where it can.”
The community of Edenvale came to the party when Le Club held a fund-raiser party for the Edenvale SPCA.
Over R2 000 was raised by the approximate 100 community members who were in attendance at the event at Edenvale indoor soccer arena.
A portion of the funds raised will be donated to the SPCA to assist the organisation in constructing its clinic.
One of the organisers of the fund-raiser and LM Radio’s Rock Show presenter, Adrian Skirrow, said the event went very well.
2019 marked the 14th fund-raiser held by the group since 2015.
He said two or three fund-raisers are held each year to assist organisations in need.
Edenvale companies who assisted Le Club with the fund-raiser included BSC Steel, Edenvale Steel and Tubes, PCS Steel and Set Build.
“The staff at SPCA are dedicated to helping animals but are under extreme pressure and have limited funds,” said Adrian.
“It is important that the community helps where it can.”
LM radio fan Di Boyd said the April 6 event was the first Le Club fund-raiser she attended.
“I love the material Adrian plays on his show, it ranges from really groovy to retro to classic rock and alternative music.”
Adrian explained by hosting Le Club reunions and parties the group hopes to keep the alternative and classic rock scene alive.
Community members can look forward to another Le Club fund-raising party in the months to come.
