Bedfordview residents take to the polls for Election Day

Bedfordview SAPS station commander Lt Col Eric Mhlongo said there was no incidents reported in the precinct covered by SAPS.

The Bedfordview community began their votes with special votes on May 6 and 7 with a determination to make their mark, and this determination continued into Election Day on May 8.

Methodist Homes Arbour Village Bedfordview welcomed Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) officials on May 7 for special votes for residents.

On May 8, Bedfordview High School, Bedfordview City Hall, Cornerstone Church, Saheti School and Bedfordview Scout Hall were all voting stations.

At Bedfordview High, the voting station was quiet; residents were in and out with no complaints or hassle.

Residents were free from long queues or any waiting period and left with smiles on their faces.

At Bedfordview Town Hall, the queue stretched down Van Buuren Road, with residents ready to vote.

Although the queue was long, residents were active and engaging and were prepared to make light of the long queue.

Bedfordview SAPS station commander Lt Col Eric Mhlongo said there was no incidents reported in the precinct covered by SAPS.

“Everything went well in Bedfordview on voting day,” said Mhlongo.
