With the hopes of reducing crime in the Edenvale policing district police are appealing to the community for assistance.

Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said in recent months the number of theft of motor vehicles increased.
“The saying, prevention is better than cure, holds truth in everyday life and is no different when applied to vehicle safety,”said Mashile.
He urged community members to be vigilant and make use of the following safety tips.
• Park vehicles in a well-lit and secure area when parking in a public area.
• To park the vehicle in a garage while at home.
• Make use of a steering lock.
• To ensure that your vehicle is locked by testing the handles.
• To know where your car keys are at all times.
