R700 000 worth of stolen goods found in Bedfordview

Giblin added an investigation will continue and the man will appear in a local magistrate's court.

A man was arrested on June 21 on Van Der Linde Road in Bedfordview for the possession of R700 000 worth of stolen goods.

WO Grant Giblin, communications officer for Benoni SAPS Flying Squad, said police officers followed up on information and recovered five large bags of cellphones and accessories in a veld on Van der Linde Road.

The stolen goods were valued at R700 000.

“The goods were valued at around R700 000 and was stolen from a retail store in Middelburg,” said Giblin.

He said that one man was arrested on scene for possession of suspected stolen property, shoplifting and common robbery.
