
Joburg Flying Squad managed to arrest 19 suspects on various charges during routine crime prevention patrols in different parts of Joburg from September 13 to 16.
In addition, four stolen and hijacked vehicles were recovered.
Among the 19 arrested suspects, 11 were for possession of drugs while four were for possession of suspected stolen property.
One suspect was arrested for contempt of court, one for house robbery, one for drunk driving and one for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Three of the four vehicles recovered were a Toyota Hilux (white), a Renault Sandero (grey) and a Nissan Tida (white).
Officers established that a Kia K2700 (white) which was recovered had been hijacked.
Flying Squad spokesperson Raymond Sambo said investigations into all cases are continuing.
“Working with the community led police to these recoveries. SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.
“It should also be noted that any information regarding the vehicles may be given to the relevant detective by quoting the relevant case number.
“In addition, all 19 suspects, aged between 22 and 38, will be appearing soon in different magistrate’s courts,” said Sambo.
