Crawford International Bedfordview inducted the 2020 Grade Seven councillors into their learner leadership roles on February 10.
Parents were invited to be part of the ceremony, as they play an important role in supporting their children in staying motivated and focused.
The learners lit a candle with their class teacher, Mr Pillay, as a symbol of shining their light of leadership.
The Grade Sevens pledged to serve as an example to others and honour their role as councillor.
A certificate of leadership was presented to the learners before their parents had the honour of pinning badges to their uniform.
All Grade Sevens are awarded the honour of serving as councillor.
The duties assigned to them are in line with their interest, as well as being the class monitor to a specific grade.
