Several officers from Edenvale Police Station received promotions for their hard work and dedication to the community.

Edenvale SAPS visible policing commander Lt Col Jimmy Munzhelele hosted the achievement ceremony for the members at the station who were promoted into new ranks.

The event was held to celebrate members who were promoted from constables to sergeant and from sergeant to warrant officer.

Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said although the newly appointed WOs had already received their shoulder flash, the sergeants received the honour of being donned with their shoulder flash by a proud Munzhelele.

Munzhelele told the newly promoted members the SAPS’ business is to fight crime and that the service recognises the the effort and hard work of its members.

He encouraged new members to be aware of the fact that they represent an organisation and not themselves.
