
Bedford Centre and the Bedfordview SAPS confirmed that a bomb threat was received this afternoon.
According to Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson, Captain Andre de Jager, the threat was received at around 1pm.

As a precautionary measure, the centre was evacuated until the situation was deemed safe.
“Bedford Centre Management, SAPS members and emergency services are on-site to monitor the situation,” de Jager said.
The centre was reopened shortly before 4pm.
